What to send for each type
Requirements differ by announcement type and by the authority or court involved.
Company notices
- Trade licence and memorandum of association
- Shareholders’ or general assembly resolution (e.g. to dissolve and appoint a liquidator)
- Liquidator’s name, licence and contact details
- Any notice form or wording the licensing authority provides
Court publication
- The court’s decision or instruction to serve by publication
- Case number and the text issued by the court
- Names of the parties exactly as in the case file
- Whether the party to be served is a foreign national

- Passport copy in the current name
- The deed, affidavit or declaration of the change

Publication options in Arabic and English
The law requires widely circulated local daily newspapers; it does not publish an approved list. These are the dailies such notices commonly appear in.

The Dubai Courts website board is not a substitute for publication
Dubai Courts publish judicial notices on an electronic board on their website. Under Resolution No. 9 of 2024 a notice appears there only after the person has already been served by affixing or by newspaper publication, and posting it on the board has no legal effect of its own. When a Dubai court instructs publication, the newspaper publication is the step that counts.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a legal newspaper announcement cost in Dubai?
There are two parts. The newspaper charges for the space, and that depends on the newspaper, the length of the notice and the publication day. Taw-Theeq charges a fee for drafting, translation and booking. You receive one itemised quote with both parts before anything is booked, and nothing is booked until you approve it.
How long does it take?
It depends on the newspaper’s booking deadline and on how quickly the final wording is approved. We confirm the publication date together with the quote. Remember that legal periods run from the publication date — for example the creditor period in a liquidation — so the date matters more than the speed.
Which newspaper should the notice appear in?
UAE law does not name newspapers. It asks for local daily newspapers, usually with at least one in Arabic, and some authorities apply their own practice on top — Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, for example, describes two Arabic newspapers for a liquidation. We check which newspapers your authority or court accepts before booking.
Does the notice have to be in Arabic and English?
Usually at least one Arabic newspaper is required. English is needed when the authority asks for it, when a court notice concerns a foreign party, or when an embassy requires an English-language newspaper. We prepare both versions when both are needed.
What proof of publication do I receive?
A copy of the published notice as it appeared — the newspaper page or e-paper page — and, where the authority asks for it, the original printed newspaper. Dubai’s liquidation procedure, for example, asks for the original newspaper with the final report.
Do I need a newspaper announcement for a lost passport?
Not under UAE procedure. The route is a Dubai Police lost-item certificate and then your embassy. Some embassies or employers still ask for a published notice; if yours has asked in writing, send us the request and we will tell you whether and how it can be published.
Can a court notice be published without a court instruction?
No. Service by publication is an exceptional method the court allows only after ordinary service has failed, and the court decides the text and the method. We work from the court’s instruction and the text it issues.
Is Taw-Theeq a newspaper or a government office?
No. Taw-Theeq is a legal support services provider in Dubai. We prepare, translate and book the notice and deliver the proof of publication; the newspaper publishes it, and the authority or court decides whether it meets its requirement.
