German-language documents reach Dubai from three countries with one language and three legal systems. A Handelsregisterauszug from Germany, a company extract from Austria and a Swiss commercial register entry are not interchangeable, and translating them as if they were is how corporate files stall at the licensing counter.

Corporate forms are not interchangeable
GmbH, AG, KG and GmbH & Co. KG describe different liability and representation structures, and the Austrian and Swiss variants differ again. Flattening any of them into “LLC” removes information a licensing officer or a judge may rely on. We keep the original form and explain it in Arabic rather than substituting an Emirati company type that carries different consequences.
Compound terms carry whole rules
German legal drafting compresses entire provisions into single words. Gesamtprokura means joint signing authority; Einzelvertretungsberechtigung means sole representation. Rendered as one approximate noun, the Arabic version tells the reader nothing about who can actually sign. These are unpacked into accurate Arabic, because the whole point of the extract is the signing rule.
Personal documents
Alongside corporate files we regularly translate Geburtsurkunde, Heiratsurkunde, Sterbeurkunde, Scheidungsurteil, Führungszeugnis and academic records — Abiturzeugnis, Diplom, and Bachelor and Master certificates for equivalency. Umlauts are the recurring detail: names containing ä, ö, ü or ß appear as ae, oe, ue and ss on passports, and the translation follows the passport while showing the German original.
Apostille, attestation and translation
German, Austrian and Swiss civil and notarial documents frequently arrive apostilled. The apostille authenticates the original; it does not replace the certified Arabic translation, and it is translated with the document because it carries data the receiving officer verifies. A translation certified by a sworn translator in Germany is certified under German rules and does not substitute for certification by a translator accredited with the UAE Ministry of Justice.
